WHY...Why do people buy these Huge, Monsterous vehicles that are meant for Rugged off-road conditions but yet they creeeeep ever-so-slowly over the smallest, tiniest little bumps in the road. Then you have people who drive cars and they go over the same bump, not even having having to slow down for it.
I'm not asking for why you drive one or for how spacious it is compared to that of a car (massimo). I am asking why You drive this vehicle that is almost the size of a tank but yet you almost come to a complete stop to go over a little bump or dip in the road.

I often ask the same question. Where I live, people having lifted trucks and SUV's is the norm, but yet they swerve to miss water puddles on the road, come to a complete stop before going over a speedbump, etc. And they also never drive the vehicle offroad. I guess they just do that for looks, cause they sure won't survive offroad the way they drive on pavement.

I haven't found an answer to that question yet myself.

After installing stiff shocks and springs the ride suffers so badly that the smallest bump taken at speed will throw the passengers up off the seat, not very pleasant.

ha... probably the same idiots who drive their SUVs at 70 mph on ice and snow covered roads... you know, the ones you see down in the ditches or smashed into the jersey wall along the side of the highway after a little bad weather !!! These are the types of people who learn to drive one by reading the owner's manual... the ones who don't have any practical sense of their own !!!

Power is an aphrodisiac, it's that simple. People drive them because it makes them feel powerful. Not because they're ever going off-road with them.
