Take a close look at the specifications page of the manual. It says DDR400 can only be used in one slot.

(Page six of the manual they have online)

I agree with R. M. The online manual does state that you can only use DDR400 RAM in one slot ... and only to a maximum of 1Gb. If you have memory in both slots, it would reasonably expect there to be memory of a slower rate, hence it seeing it all as DDR333.

If you wish to remove the 512Mb RAM module, (reducing your total memory to 1Gb), you will see on pages 27 and 28 of the said online manual, that you can change the speed at which your memory is recognised. (It can read memory at 200MHz frequency (DDR400 speed) by changing the BIOS configuration in Advanced > Chipset configuration > DRAM frequency from Auto to 200MHz. Save this and then reboot.)

properly it will be staggering to understand what's incorrect with the laptop contained in the first position. what type of laptop is it? %? hardpersistent reminiscence? how a lot ram do you've now? you could upload ram yet when the motherboard won't be able to take more advantageous than it gained't remember. And if the CPU chip is in simple terms sluggish the ram can in simple terms accomplish that a lot... yet when like you in simple terms have 512 Ram and favor to extend to a gig or 2 it would help, fairly in case your in simple terms project is it really is sluggish. also you could continuously go back the RAM if the priority isn't fixed- in simple terms open the kit intently and keep the receipt. do no longer purchase from someplace that announces "no returns"
