Right, it's nearly time!
Make sure your husband doesn't abandon you to the mercy of his mother's/sister's rapid fire questioning....keep smiling even if you want to poke someone's eyes out.....remember it's not for long....rise above any sniping and change the subject to something nicer if it kills you..don't feel you have to justify anything about your lives to anyone....talk to the dog if he's the nicest of all of them...help in the kitchen to get away...?!!
Very satisfying to not lower yourself to their level even if they're spoiling for a fight...annoys them even more if you don't react to their baiting.
Promise yourself a treat for when you get home in one piece...a big bubble bath, candles, your favourite mags, the works.
Can you tell I've got experience? (Luckily my "problem" is 4500 miles away this Easter.) Go for it!

You dont really say what the problem is, but dealing with inlaws can be bad for some people I guess. Just try to talk when asked questions, be polite and respectfull. Thats all you can do.
Good Luck.

Yes Smile and be warm. Pretend you are a diplomat. Do not let any little word or detail get to you. Rise above any problems and realize that it may be awkward but at least you dont have to live with them and will be leaving later.
Its hard but do it for your spouse so he will be proud of you.

I just don't do get togethers with my in-laws. My husband goes by himself if he feels it is something important. I do my own thing, usually spending holidays with my own family. Nobody seems to miss me and I don't miss them either. I used to feel guilty about it, but now I just appreciate the peace and enjoy the holiday. Holidays are about spending time with those that make you happy.

Just smile and nod a lot. Take something to read or work on. Find someone who you can have a conversation with and stick with him/her. If there are kids, keep an eye on them to stay busy.

Put yourself in control...Let them entertain you and see how they react. Use proper english and be oped to their sense of humor. Do a lot of observing... Do they have respect for God and pray at the table? Are they above middle income? Or are they a bunch of dirt balls and drunks?
