Most modern washers use cold fill as the built in thermostat is more accurate than the one in your home. Therefore the washer can monitor the temperature of the water over the course of the wash. Also it,s one less pipe connection to worry about.

As far as I know there's no such thing - All washing machines can be used with cold water only. The thing is, if you cold fill a machine it will take ages to heat the water up and use loads of electricity in the process..
Think about it - If there were different types of machine the cold fill ones would not be the cheapest because you'd have to pay for the extra bits, because only cold fill machines would need a heating element to make the cold water hot enough to do the washing, etc.
Hot and cold fill simply depends on how the machine is plumbed in.
Considering you've probably already got hot water at home it makes more sense to fill a machine with that.

I used to have a hot and cold fill it was great but used to drain the hot water tank so sometimes at bath time no hot water. I now have a cold fill and as the water gets heated up by the machine it takes forever to do a wash. Even a quick wash takes about an hour where as my old machine only took 25mins. I'd go with hot and cold fill personally as I have a 6 month old baby and machine constantly on but depends on your needs before our baby born I used to put machine on before I went to work so by the time I got home it were done so didnt matter how long it took as I werent waiting for it to finish.

Hi, Ive actually worked for the white goods industry for 10 years with Electrolux. As far as hot or cold fill goes, its far better to use a cold fill machine, its more economical to heat the water inside the machine than draw it form your hot water reserve (even if u are on an economy heating plan), also with many modern washing powders using enzymes of one kind or another to remove stains, it is far more effective to heat from cold as this allows the enzymes to function optimally whereas hot water will just destroy them and with that the usefulness of the washing powder...hope this helps

Cold fill> There's nothing worse than being half-way through a nice hot shower when the washing machine decides to re-fill.

most all come with a switch so you can decide HOT or COLD .
Wash and or Rinse this is not rocket science
wash machines come with two water hookups on the back one for hot and the other for cold water

Cold, much more energy efficient, and you will probably not find one with hot and cold fill anyway.

I think they are all thesame. You just twist the dial to cold wash/cold rinse to save some money on your electricity or gas bill.
