At their closest points, Russia is only 50 miles from Alaska. The pipeline between North America and Asia, at that point, is considered to be a long one.
To bridge Africa and North America would require a pipeline thousands of miles in length and would require so many safeguards to prevent a rupture that the cost would be so prohibitive the gasoline price would go up for several decades.
With our current technology, I can't see it happening, even though it would have its benefits.

Why in the world do you think we are entitled to have the Iraqi oil for free? ... or for less than a dollar ...?
What if you were told to give your car to an Iraqi for free?
You'd raise Hell, wouldn't you? - Now wouldn't you?...Yes you would.
And as suggested, go look up and find out how far Iraq is from the US East Coast!

You can answer your own question by looking at a map of the world. Gas is cheaper in Mexico, so you may want to move there. In Europe and in England, gas is much higher in price, around $5. , so drive less or learn to live with it. Best wishes

It doesn't have to be done... We have plenty of untapped oil. We just won't tap into it. I think the government wants to use up all of the Iraqi oil so we can have control over the oil later.. lol. I think the Caribou will be just fine if we tap into the Alaskan reserve...

Can't be done. Buy a cheaper car, ride the bus, get used to gas that costs about what it has (adjusted for inflation) for two decades.

It could be done, but it would be so expensive you would pay about $100 per gallon.
