Yes!!! Our town has an oil refinery. When I was in school in the 60's, if your daddy did not work at CONOCO, then you were nothing. I was not allowed to join one school organization because my dad was just a carpenter.

The quote "most rich people have starchy appearance" is classic. The fool doesn't go to places they congregate yet he knows how they look.

I lived in SF and NYC and know a lot of rich people and they are more down to earth than some middle class white liberal who wants everyone taxed out of existence except themselves.

90% of the rich people I know (and I know about a 1000+) got that way through hard work. Going to college, working 16 hours a day, forgoing pleasure, etc. The few that I knew that got rich because of inheritance had to live up to their parents standards and if their parents worked hard to get the money, they were reminded of it daily.

Hating the rich (as well as whites, Christians, Jews (as long as you use 'zionist' instead of Jews) is the new vogue. What kills me is when one of these 'Rage Against the Machine' types get rich, they suddenly find the tax shelters that they condemned when they were middle class or poor.

Oh yes. Had fifteen years experience with my boss. When he retired they wanted me to take his job for the same money that I was making as a woman. They wanted to try and see if I could handle the job. I knew his job like the back of my hand, but I was a woman. I quit and the owners fired the man who gave me such a hard time and hired me back. It was three miserable months before they hired me back paying more than my retired boss had been making. I won only in the end after quitting for three months and letting them run the department without me. I knew my worth. My retired boss knew my worth. From my first day on the job, I made sure that I knew everything that I could know about the company. I worked hard. I never goofed off. And in the end, I got the job that I wanted.

Most rich people have starchy appearance. I avoid going to the places/parties for rich for fear of being seen through and through as if I am invisible. Rich people only befriend rich and are condescending towards other classes.

Some Smart Alec has tried to call me names because I said 'I avoid going'. That doesn't mean I have never gone and I avoid exactly for the reason mentioned above. You will never be comfortable in such a set up where you don't belong.

Quit shoving your good fortune (or hard work) in everyone's face and the "discrimination" will stop.

How would anyone know how much money you have unless you tell them?
