I think it really matters if what you wanted was really what you needed. How many times have I eaten that extra piece of cake, felt great, then felt WAY WORSE?

I am happy when i achieve something, and then go on to the next achievement.

But I do not want want others have and the grass is never greener on the other side of the fence. Once you get it you dont want it any more, it always seems greener elsewhere.

No, am not nowadays. I just keep goingfor more and more and want more and more. I was not like this in my childhood. Maybe my life is forcing me ? And true I feel the grass is always greener on the other side. Good question. Just that I can't wake up and know why but can't. It is a shame though.

Sometimes I am happy when I get what I want, at least at first, then I discover it is not always what I need.

That's the paradox, what we want is not always what we truly need but sometimes getting it really shows us what we need and sends us off in another direction to truly get our needs fulfilled.

So it's not always a case of the grass is greener...lol... it could be just a different type of grass!

When we want what we need we are happy when we get it. It is often the case that we desire something which we don't really want or need and it that continuously unfulfilled desire that masquerades as want which always makes us want more.
We are often told what we want by others and for a lack of self-knowledge we accept that these things are what we truly desire. This leads to situations when we appear to achieve the resolution to our wants but find ourselves unsatisfied. I think everyone has a particular situation when they got exactly the thing they wanted and found that is was not as they had expected so rather than satisfaction they found only disappointment.
When we examine our wants in light of our needs then we come to a more complete understanding them. I might desire a new television but if my needs are to pay rent and buy groceries then fulfilling my want for the TV compromises my needs for food and shelter and creates an unhappy new TV owner. If we desire a new relationship and leave our old one for the new one and discover that our problems still exist but now with a new person who is less understanding of our personal foibles. We have sacrificed understanding in order that we might have something new.
So want, or desire, must be examined to determine its validity. We live in a world where it is often easier to toss out the old rather than repair it and this extends to all aspects of our lives.

Yes, I am happy when I get what I want. Am I satisfied...for awhile. But we are joy seeking, creative beings, always with the need to create more, to want more. It's how we were made and it's okay. As long as you appreciate what you have now, you will always attract more that you desire into your experience.

Yes, I am. The only thing that varies is how long the happiness lasts as a result. Sometimes I want things and get them and am sorry I got it.

We are always happy when we get something we want but without hurting anyone . Life is small so we should feel happy
for everything we get in it and should try to achieve more.
we should remember- something is better than nothing.

For some time I feel blessed & special. Then the time ticks & some thing else comes. Another mountain to climb. Life is dynamic not static.
