Head over to http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/dlllibrary/hhctrl/ and click on the blue Click Here to Run a Free Scan for hhctrl.ocx Related Errors .

The hhctrl is part of the Microsoft help files. Sounds like they just need to be repositioned.

Install this update to resolve an issue where the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel may not start after you install security update KB925902 (MS07-017) and security update KB928843 (MS07-008). After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

When you start a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2, the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel may not start. Additionally, you may receive the following error message: Rthdcpl.exe - Illegal System DLL Relocation

The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\Windows\System32\Hhctrl.ocx occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL. This problem occurs when the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel (Rthdcpl.exe) by Realtek Semiconductor Corporation is installed.

There is a windows security update that is causing this for alot of people> KB925902 to be exact.

Go to control panel>>Add or Remove programs, checkmark the little box at the top next to "show updates", scroll down towards the bottom, look for the number above next security update, click remove, restart pc. and this will take care of this problem.

Also, I had to change the option for automatic updates, from "automatic", to "notify me, but don't download or install them" option, other wise it keeps asking you to install it

Emahine, right? This is an error that has been coming up for people since last weeks MS patch for the animated cursor exploit. MS has since patched the patch. You can go to windows update and let it update your system, or get the new realtek drivers.

The available 'fix-it' download from Microsoft works like a dream. I went on this answer site, clicked on the download from Microsoft and 'voila' no more problemo.
Thanks Microsoft
