I am thankful that I live in a free country, where I can worship God as I please. I am thankful that I have my eyesight, and a well functioning body and brain. I am thankful that I have at least some food to eat.

But why is life so hard sometimes?

Right now, I am out of work, desperately and diligently trying to find a new job. I have no money. My car is in the shop, and the mechanic needs 900 dollars before I can get it back. My Mom has Carpal Tunnel, and can't work at the moment. We are suffering terribly in regards to finances. We are contemplating as to how we will pay for the rent next month...how we can buy food and medicine...and it's incredibly stressful.

Why is life so difficult?

a small, thin girl...who looks like a bag of bones....survives on mango kernels...eats it once a day to save it as far as she can. she is sold by her parents for money who are equally below poverty line. she leads her life under the scorching sun and goes to the town to pick rags...and sees all happy wonderful children of her age ...going to school....playing around, wearing nice clothes and eating three full meals a day. no one knows when that body of hers will break down and kill her.....she has no future to speak of...

this is one example of thousands and thousands of children and human beings suffering in many many countries...

now tell me....whose life is harder??

yours or theirs??

you have a mother...and you have the potential to get a job...to get back the car and pay the rent...someday you will.

what about that lil girl?

Life is EASY. It's comfort, health & happiness that are the challenge. But even if you just sat on the sidewalk you could live for weeks!

Go find a job... there are more jobs than there are people to do them, just find one you can do that will pay for the basics if you have no savings to "tide you over". Sell some stuff if you need money for medicine. The vast majority of Americans have literally $1000's worth of "stuff" they THINK they need but that they never actually use! (Behold, the power of advertising!)

Most important, keep a diary and write down how you feel right now, how you think you got to this point, and what your plans are to try and get back to where you want to be.

You can cure the stress by taking five minutes off as oftenm as you need to; if you stopped what you are doing RIGHT NOW, and went and watched the trees grow for five minutes, it would make no difference to anything in the "big picture", but it would make you feel better!

Best wishes...

P.S. Do some budget-management training...my whole car cost little more than $900! You shouldn't ever own a car that costs more to fix than you have in a funded account dedicated to car repairs! If you own a car, praying that nothing goes wrong with it is usually the least effective method of managing ownership expense!

For some reason money stress is the worst, I know, I grew up with it. It will get better someday. Maybe you could give up the car and take the bus? Or like that other guy said, get rid of some stuff you don't really need, or get a roommate, or use candles instead of electricity. Just go into random places you didn't think people even needed workers and ask. Maybe a big grocery store, or Wal-Mart, or something. I wish I could help more!!

well, i'm sorry you're having such a hard time, but sometimes not everything can turn out just the way you want it to be. i shouldn't be talking, as my parents are wealthy and i have no financial problems whatsoever, so you can ignore me if you like. but i've been in some tough places, too, and it always helps, if not literally at least emotionally, to look up and be optimistic! try to look at things the bright way, even if the ideas seem crazy and absurd. like, "by not having enough food right now, i'm learning by experiencing firsthand what it was like for the people of the Depression, and i can help better when i have more food, to organize food drives and things"

If you have problems preventing you from earning at your potential (such as your Mom's problem) you might be eligible for some help. You might be able to get help paying for medications, or energy assistance, etc. Look up welfare, social services, public assistance, etc. Find the one for your county - usually you can begin the application process right online. Again... if you really need the assistance, never feel bad taking it. It's what it is designed for. But when you are able to... it is always nice to give back, and always remember that you yourself are fortunate for your ability to live a "normal" life and have the capacity to earn money!

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Your life seems to be pretty good.

You have freedom, faith, eyesight, a good body and mind, and food.

If you compare yourself to people who have more than you do, you will suffer. You seem to be comparing your life to the "imagined life" in your head, of where you think you should be...... THERE IS NO "SHOULD BE" LIFE.

Go into google, and type "blind", then "insane", then "orphan", then "wicked" then type "starving". You'll see how many people in the world are calling YOU rich. You are the lucky one.

Life is hard, and you will die, losing everything. You may die tomorrow. Truly accepting that you will never have the ideal life you've been dreaming of, will allow you to truly enjoy every day you have left of the life you still have.

No pain no gain. Life is a collection of random events so it is natural for things to go wrong in the life of an individual.

The suffering of this life is a lesson in humility, and a preparation for the more divine existence that humanity must work toward.

if life isn't hard we do not appreciate the sunnier days enough.
i am really sorry for all that you are facing but just hold on,it's a phase and it will pass soon enough.
i know what you are going through for i have faced it myself in the past.
this is my favourite verse from 'If' by Rudyard Kipling.
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch and toss
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says "Hold on!"

Sometimes life is very difficult. There are no answers except for the ones you already know. Keep looking for a job, pray and have faith that God will see you through this dfficult time.
