WARNING: Plaster generates a lot of heat. When done for a cast on an arm, the arm is protected with padding and or a sleeve and the plaster bandage is put on thin. Do not apply plaster directly to the skin, it will damage the skin. And if you apply the gauze for your purpose, it will not mold well later. Suggest you cover the unshaven arm with a light coating of Vaseline (petroleum jelly) and use this to hold a thin film of plastic in place, then put wet newspaper strips for detail, then put wet plaster or plaster bandage on top for rigidity. Much better to mold in two parts if you don't have a special saw to cut casts without harming skin as plaster gets very hard and doesn't cut well in other ways.

You will need some assistants. If you have hair on you arm, you may want to shave. Get parting wax, molding plaster and several yards/metres of gauze bandage. I've no exact idea on length but figure at least 15 yards or metres. Mix up the plaster, coat you arm in the parting wax after removing any jewelry and watches. Have your assistants wrap your arm with the gauze bandage and apply the plaster to it. Once the plaster has set, you can make a single cut along the full length of the plaster cast and remove it. By joining the plaste cast back into 1 piece, you have a hollow that you can fill with gelatin giving you your final product.

Have fun and you should consider having parental supervision around since I don't know if the plaster produces any heat while setting. I've never had the privilege of breaking a limb, so I've never worn a cast.

If you mean the edible, fun kind of gelatin arm, then I have a really simple solution that works well for us at our parties. Get a rubber glove (you can get just about any length) and mix and pour your Jello gelatin into it. We leave the glove in the fridge for a couple or 3 days. Last year we made a lime green gelatin hand, and floated it in a cauldron of smoking punch. It was very cool.
