"tawas"? i think it's some sort of crystal used to prevent body odor, or something. there was a line of products here in the Philippines that used "tawas" as a main ingredient for the deodorants and soaps.

the thumb....practically on Lake Huron...Went there in early 60's for a few days.....stayed in a cabin...and there was a lake
