Itunes doesn't sell any Beatles music.
Try using allofmp3.com it has the full Beatles catalogue for sale.
It is much cheaper than itunes. The quality of the downloads are much better and best of all their mp3 downloads work on all mp3 players not just overpriced ipods!

Neither I-tunes or Napster sell music by the Beatles because it's just too expensive to buy the right to sell it. Napster also don't have any Led Zeppelin or Metalica. This is because the major record companies who own these band's material want to charge an absolute fortune to allow other people to make a profit off it - and as such severely restrict their own market. If the majors aren't careful this could lead to their financial collapse.

Because the people who own the rights believe that the songs are worth more than 99 cents each. I think they were shooting for $1.49 and itunes won't allow anyone to go above .99 so the Beatles songs remain digitally unavailable.

Wasn't there some kind of bust up between the Beatles who started Apple Corp. and Apple over the symbol and name? Maybe something to do with that

It is probably because it was Apple music or because it is old.
You can try Limewire or napster.com. They are really awesome.
