Rockets and the space shuttle use hydrogen as fuel - the byproduct of hydrogen combustion is water, not polluting in the slightest. The only pollution comes from not re-using the equipment and having to start from scratch again.
There are plenty of other frivolous things you could pick on. How about the music industry - you don't NEED music, yet every year millions of CDs are made, which require oil, electricity, paper etc. At least space research serves a purpose.

We are advertising our ignorance to the advanced aliens who visit us.
We are showing the Aliens that we don't care about any of the living things on this planet.
We have left space junk circling the planet as well as littering the moon by not bringing back what we took with us.
Is it any wonder they won't meet us. Look at what we did with the Aliens that crashed in Roswell. Did we try and help them or did we decide to cut them open to see what is there ?

There is going to come a day when all of the natural resources of this planet are used up. Hopefully by then, we will have the means to move to an earth-like planet or at least be able to extract missing resources from planet that do have what we need.

The stability of benefit between guy and gadget has tilted immensely and irretrievably in favour of the machines. enable's deliver greater of them into area as a replace. i understand sending human beings into area is exciting, however the extensive quantities of money it costs would desire to purchase very lots of genuine technological know-how.

Normally, I NEVER agree with user .
However, I think that answer makes a lot of sense. We waste tons of industrial potential on capitalistic endeavors, just so CEO's can make millions of dollars a year.
Space exploration at least serves a human interest.

Because ministers use mock-concern for global-warning like a PR-boosting tag, whilst flying around to their heart's content (jets, rockets), and we all have to remember to not leave our TVs on stand-by.
