Well, happy birthday first of all. I have already turned forty. I dreaded it too. I don't feel any different now. Apparently middle age doesn't start until your fifty now, and fifty is the new forty so I hope that makes you feel better. And have a lovely day. Have some new challenges in life to aim at.

Well I had a similar situation with my sister-in-law, before my little girl went to school. She watched her for me 5 days a week, 9 hours a day! What a godsend was she! She would not accept money from me. Period. So what I did was give her money in the form of other things, such as snacks and drinks (enough for all the kids) and she loved Avon and couldn't pass up me ordering her things she liked. Also for Christmas I would buy her a nice gift. I guess the point is, I would show her appreciation in any other way I could. Now, if this friend/ co-worker does accept money for payment, I would say about 20 to 25 dollars might seem fair with you providing for your own baby's needs such as diapers, etc. I mean she did offer. I know I wouldn't offer such a thing if I really did mind!

Happy birthday!! What a coincidence you asked this question. I just turned 39 on Friday and was a little disheartened about it, because that makes me only one year from turning 40. I've always been proud of my age, but I've seen how society views women in their 40's. Suddenly they're seemingly invisible.
But, on the other hand, I've heard a lot of women say that life starts after 40, so maybe it's a life-style choice these women make when they turn 40. Me? I'm choosing the life starts after 40 and am going to enjoy every minute of it!
I hope you have a great birthday and a Happy Easter!

Congratulations. 40 is a great age. You're not young enough to make immature mistakes, and you're not old enough to hang up your dancing shoes. People will look up to you, whether they're 8 or 80. Men will find you interesting AND sexy. You'll look back on your life and smile at what you've accomplished, and you'll forward with excitement to the possibilities with you. Enjoy your birthday, and I hope you have many more.

Happy Birthday , My 40th birthday was depressing because it is a day to reflect and at the time things were not going well. But its just another day , hug your loved ones extra hard and have that extra glass of wine .
