You gain your dignity back by knowing that whatever behavior or deed you have done was just a bad choice. Basically you messed up. But that's not who you are. And use it to learn from, pull something of value from it. You can find the good in anything, even if it's like "Because this happened i'm now more sympathetic to others wants and needs". It can be anything. Just know it's not who you really are. Just a bad choice, we all make them, find the positive and focus on that and you'll be set.

You can't. You should've thought first before you did the deed.
Takes a very long time to gain dignity back again.

I haven't lost my dignity. But if I did, I'd go on head held high- business as usual after asking God for forgiveness.
