Hi, I have a problem with my brakes. I got new brakes 5 month ago on the back and for the front 1 month ago( and at the same time, got new rotors on the back becaus I thought that caused the noise, nope) my car is still sweeking and loud I might add as if I had no braakes left at all( but it's not the brakes they are new. Can anyone tell me what can it be. I want some kind of heads up before I get scammed from a brake shop telling me I need new ones again. thanks a lot, chyna

If you didn't authorize the brake shop to do a full brake job, then there may be still worn parts.

If your car is over 5 years old & live in a damp environment, the callipers should be changed as well as the pads & rotors. Disc brakes generate a lot of heat. With the damp air, moisture condensates causing corrosion within the calliper. Yes, the calliper may be still functioning, however they will not function the end of the pads life.

If the pads are worn unevenly, have the callipers peplaced

There is a problem like this with cheap pads, because they get hard after awhile-as most people call it crystallized, they do this from getting real hot from prolonged use.
Sometimes there is a anti-squeal spring or a sticky tape to stick on the back of the pads to prevent this,if it isn't done at the time of the brake job that maybe your problem.check with the place that did your brake job to see what kind of warranty you have with your brake job.

Have a quick read there.

When are squeals signaling a problem?
Sometimes brake squeals are an indication that maintenance is required. Some common conditions that cause brake noise are:

Heat cracked or worn "un-true" rotors

Rough finish on resurfaced rotors

Loose fitting brake pads in the brake calipers

Lack of silicone compound on back of brake pad

Missing springs or anti-rattle clips that should be on the caliper or pad

Improper tightening sequence of lug nuts or caliper hardware

Contamination on the brake pad i.e. brake fluid

get it back to other mechanic, because the previous mech.
He forgot to put RTV silicone ,in the back plate, of the brakes pads.
and that 's what it make the brakes squeal .
the creeping noise is pad wear out ,but that is not Your case.

mechanic for a living my whole life.(good living)

I am telling You ,for real.

if your rotors were scared from to much brake wear, that just might cause a sqeal.check the rotors.if they grooved, have turned or buy new ones.not that much.also, sometimes, the shoes get dirty real fast.they make a spray to help to get rid of it.
