In science, since nothing can be "proven", we have laws and theories. Before either of those though, are hypotheses: these are the smaller, working questions/ideas that guide research. Once a large body of evidence has been gathered through individual studies and investigations (driven by hypotheses), for some issues, larger, overriding, laws/theories can be derived. If the larger idea is mathematic in nature, we call it a law: Law of Thermodynamics, Law of conservation of mass and energy.
A theory, is a law without all the numbers. This includes Einstein's General Theory of Relativity and the Theory of Evolution through Natural Selection (common misnomer: the theory of "evolution" is not correct, what Darwin postulated was the actual mechanism that drives evolution- folks had been observing and writing about evolution since the ancient Greeks- no one has ever doubted that evolution was just a basic fact of the living world).
Therefore, what Darwin did was bring together a large body of investigations and evidence and attempt to explain the natural patterns observed. A hypothesis, theory, or law in science can never be "proven", science only works though the failure to disprove- so far, there has been no credible evidence to disprove the Law of Conservation of Energy nor the Theory of Natural Selection.

All evidence supports evolution, read The Blind Watchmaker by Dawkins if you want some good refutations of the common creationist arguments.
Evolution is proven, and can be observed easily operating in almost all aspects of biological life at all times. Why do you take a full course of penicillin? Because if you don't, the more resistant strains survive, evolving into a new population.
Why is it so very hard to treat AIDS? The virus, due to it's poor replication methods, constantly evolves into new forms that current drugs don't work on.
A lot of farmers rotate pesticide uses, switching methods and treatments between fields every other year. Otherwise, pests evolve resistance.
Chloroquine is no longer effective at treating malaria. Why? Overusage and usage in third world countries where people couldn't afford the full course (and thus left off using too early) prompted evolution of the virus.
Why the big concern about Avian Influenza Virus? Scientists are worried that it will evolve into a form that is easily transmissible among humans, and we will see an epidemic.
The fossil record implicates evolution as reality. Molecular genetics implicates evolution as reality. Dog breeding implicates evolution as reality. When you get right down to it, evolution is proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt. And everything we do, particularly in medical fields and the biological sciences, implicitly takes that assumption into account.

In science nothing is absolutely proven. If you want proof you must go to higher math or philosophy.
Science is the study of the physical universe. By physical I mean anything that can be measured. There is more than 150 years worth of physical evidence that points to evolution. In fact there is no physical evidence that rejects evolution.
In science, evolution is an acceptted fact. The idea of theory is used because evolution is more than the statement that organisms change over time. It is an explanation of how and why they change. The answers of how and why are still explanations somewhat open to interpretation.
The idea that scientists go searching for evidence to support evolution is rather silly. In fact the scientist that could reject the theory of evolution would be quite famous.
No evolution has happened and is happening. This should not cause you to question God or the bible...Only your interpretation.

I am a religious person but evidence does show that evolution occured. First of all, lets think about this logically how can Earth be created in 6 days. It is highly unprobable but evolution is not. Darwins theory makes much sense and there is evidence. It can be proven because there has been evidence around the world that proves Darwins Theory.

There is plenty of factual evidence to support evolution. There is none to support creation.
You might have noticed the answers you have recieved that support creation do not offer any evidence for creation, but just bash evolution theory.

Evolution is scientific fact. It has been proven. Proof is in my living room (fish tank with African Cichlids). Proof is in the fossil record. Whether the hand of God put evolution into motion is what should be debated.

The scientific method is based on gathering facts and drawing conclusions based on facts. The THEORY of evolution is thrust upon grammar school students as a FACT upon an early age. It could have been taught as a possible explanation of SOME scientists. Not all scientists believe in evolution. Instead it is presented dogmatically as fact to young minds.
If we took some sand and heat and heated them for thousands or millions of years, would the silicon particles in the sand "evolve" into a working microchip? Of course not- it takes a room full of technicians, a highly controlled environment specialized tools and machinery to form one.
Scientists, many decades ago tried to form a living cell with gasses and an electrical spark in a laboratory under specialized conditions. They only got some goo. As we know, living creatures are composed of billions of living cells.
The question remains, if scientists cannot 'create' life under CONTROLLED CONDITIONS, how could even one living cell somehow form itself under the most extreme, chaotic conditions, with NO 'scientific mind' to control or regulate the process?
How can one construct a 'skyscraper' without a foundation? Well, evolutionists, have constructed such a building.
The whole 'foundation' for the thoery of evolution is that somehow, elements present on earth, magically came together to form a living cell. Then, the cell 'decided' to form DNA, and copies of itself and over millions of years, this process repeated itself to miraculously form more complex life forms.
In conclusion, specialized materials, controled conditions and a Great 'Scientist' were required to form life on this planet. This is just the tip of the iceberg in pointing to a Creator.
