Spend it to excess if I have it, not spend it when I don't. Bills paid first, everything else is for living life to the max.

I used to be that way back in highschool. I bought a car, 50 inch TV, xbox, ps 2s, laptops & surround systems.

Now, I know what the value of dollar is and I save as much as I can and place it in funds that give 8% return or more every year.

Now I have retirement accounts and a comfortable bank account.

God bless America

I buy what my family needs, food etc, pay bills and save the rest, you never know what is going to happen around the corner. It is nice to have some money put away. Some people say I am cheap, but I would rather be cheap and have money than wasteful and broke.

I am what I would call conservative with my money but I don't deprive myself of anything. I have plenty in the bank to ride out emergencies, but I drive a comfortable car with a V8 engine, etc. and don't obsess about the day to day prices of things. Remember that no one knows what the future holds and you gotta live life in the moment.

I absolutely hate spending money on things I don't need. I need food, gas, pay mortgage for the family. That's what I spend money on. That's about it. We don't need a fancy car or have prime rib everyday. I want a fancy car, but I don't need one. I want to have prime rib, but I don't need it everyday. Besides, a fancy car cost more to maintain and cost more for insurance. Too much prime rib is not good for me anyway :)

Save. If I had to buy clothes because around here no one looks at you unless you're wearing something "decently" priced, I would buy two expensive suits as one offs, and save the rest otherwise one feels guilty.

Why on earth would anyone spend more than they can afford? Sounds like a mental problem to me.

I hate spending money, I don't do it unless it's for something worthwhile or essential.
