What are we teaching the youngster that look up to these players? They say that they are not role models...bullsh**, they know that they are and should act accordingly. The NFL, to me, has turned into a league of prima donnas and money grubbing owners....I am all for making a buck, but come on...it is getting totally rediculous...ticket prices, merchandise, even the old bubble gum cards are skyrocketing.....

Shouldn't the league remember the "little people"? We are the ones that sit in those stands in all weather, support our teams even in the lean years, hold up the family team tradition and pass it on to our youngsters, and finally buy the merchandise....when are we going to get a break? We want our teams to be honorable, hardworking, and DRUG FREE players. What is the Hall of Fame going to be full of in Canton? Think about the future, not the now..... Please Mr. Commissioner, think about what is best for the NFL and the FANS........

Because he served his suspension. He claims to have weaned himself off drugs through yoga and is in the best shape of his life. If he can turn his life around and stop using drugs isnt that the whole point of the suspension? And its not like Ricky Williams ever gets into trouble with the law like some other players. He was taking marijuana because he has severe anxiety disorder, depression, and fear of public places. He actually got a prescription for it. I agree that it should drug free, but in Ricky's case I think is he has a great comeback it will help the NFL's image. I mean one of their players had drug problems and got off them and turned his life around. That is a good role model for people who have drug problems. And about the prices its a business and they want the most profits they can. Eventually they will reach a point where fans are unwilling to pay the price but that is a long way away. Football is different from baseball and basketball because each team only plays 8 home games (not including the playoffs) thats the reason why the ticket prices are so high. They need to make all their revenue from only 8 games. If you dont want to spend all your money going to game just watch it on tv. I've never been to one in my life because they are too expensive but that doesn't stop me from being an avid fan. I'm not sure what team you're a fan of but it looks like they have some problems with their players. I am a Patriots fan and proud to say we are hardworking, and honorable, and DRUG FREE for the most part. We don't keep punk players or even try and draft many we ship their a**es home. Teams need to held responsible for drafting the bad players. I mean look at the Bengals and Titans this year.

Why shouldn't he be allowed to come back? Wouldn't that be sending the message that if you screw up in society you are screwed for life, even if you turn your live around? I know that's the mindset of a lot of people but it's not like Ricky Williams ever hurt anyone but himself. He took his punishment so let him be. As for the illegal drugs, people either forget or don't want to remember that his current suspension was not because of an illegal drug. He tested positive because something in his daily vitamens. Agree or disagree but give the NFL credit they stood by their rules and suspended him anyway. Though there is much speculation that had the Denver Broncos not leaked the positive test Ricky wouldn't have gotten suspended. We'll never truly know. We can find lots of players through the years in various sports who were way worse than Ricky.

If you go with this, "kids look up to these guys and will start smoking pot just like them"... you should never be a parent.

This is just a parent's excus to get away from the fact that they failed. It's also like blaming violence on TV and movies and video games. It's all on the parents to keep the kid off that crap. If they know it's in the area, find another area where it's not a problem. Then if they start to do it when they're 17+.. thats the kids fault..
I'm sorry.. but it is easy as hell to say no to that crap.

You ask the commish to think of the fans... ok then.

Ricky Williams is a hell of a player. He's explosive and puts on one hell of a show. How do I know this? I've seen him play live, he's amazing. I learned some of my footwork off of watching him. He's a top notch, high caliber player. He will spark the games in return making the FANS have a better game to watch.

So... all of you people saying, "think about the kids" "think about the HOF" "think about the future"... Just shut up. He smoked, big deal.. If your kid is stupid enough to start and knows what it does.. it's your kid's fault.. you warned the kid.

He's a GREAT athlete, very kind person, who has mad mistakes. And don't even TRY to make it sound like you're perfect.

Ricky should play in the NFL... and if he plays like when he did a couple years ago.. he should go to the HOF... And i seriously doubt 100% of the players in the HOF were oh so perfect and never tried/did drugs

Judging by the latest suspensions handed out, it would appear that Williams is contemplating returning to the NFL at the wrong time. THis is a tough call, but the climate under the current commissioner does not look good for him.

I watched him final year interior the CFL on television. He had a median season yet could have executed greater efficient if he hadn't neglected 4 video games because of the fact his arm replaced into broken.Off the sector, which i think of is a controversy here,he got here off as an entire expert and made a good effect in Canada. He replaced into articulate, enthusiastic and a team participant.i think of his mature habit in Toronto could have a huge result on the NFL signing him lower back. confident, all and sundry merits the possibility to commence as quickly as greater.
