The college or university you are attending or are planning to attend will have a catalog of courses & degree requirements issued every year. In that college catalog simply go to the department of psychology and they should have a listing of required and elective course to move you toward your goal.

After you earn you BS degree you will have to go to graduate school and begin taking the postgraduate courses in the field of pyschology you desire to practice. To be a licenced as a psychologist you need as a minimun either an MA or MS (Masters) degree in the field.

That's how it was done when I earned my BS, MPA and MBA degrees. I followed the catalog, took the required courses and graduated. You can always go to the department adviser for addition direction.

In college/university you would need to take at least a psychology major and statistics. Other subjects will be indicated in the course syllabus.

Before signing up for such a course you would need to decide what kind of psychologist you want to be - there are experimental psychologists, clinical psychologists, educational psychologists and so on. Each type having their own area of expertise. For example, a social psychologist tends to deal with the psychological aspects of people in groups, whilst a clinical psychologist deals with the psychology of people as individuals.

The qualifications you need to have to be any kind of psychologist depend on the country, and to some extent on the speciality.
In Britain ANYONE can practise as a psychologist, but if you want to be employed as one by a reputable organisation then you will certainly need a formal qualification.

In America, on the other hand, you must have at least a Masters degree to practise as a psychologist (you do NOT need a Ph.D. or a D. Psych - but it couldn't hurt).

Are you in high school or college? In high school, they usually offer one psychology course which is optional. Take it if you can. In college, there are more offering in psychology. There will be a perscribed course of study that will be required if you are majoring in psychology. This is usually described in the college catalog. Majoring in psychology does not make you a psychologist. You cannot be a psychologist with just a bachelor's degree. You must have a doctoral degree for that.
