So many ignorant respondents to my other questions on this topic are oblivious to history of wars the U.S. won. They overlook the fact that expressing support for the enemy--as so many Rosie O'Donnell and Bill Maher and Jon Stewart and Charlie Sheen and Nancy Pelosi and Cindy Sheehan and Cynthia McKinney types do--is NOT legally protected 'free speech" under the Bill of Rights in the U.S. Constitution.

To the contrary, it is illegal sediton, sabotage, enemy propaganda and TREASON against one own country under the U.S. Constitution, and punishable by prison, fines, and even up to death.

When Lincoln was faced with traitors among our own citizenry, he hung or shot them by firing squad. That's how we used to win wars--we gave the enemy no quarter in our own hearts and minds.

Ever notice how we started to experience humiliating defeats a la Vietnam and other conflicts (that shall remain unnamed) since we as a society began tolerating treasonous dissent as if it were free speech?

Please don't waste your own time or mine by typing garbage about "Bush lied" and all that bogus leftist propaganda....he won both elections fair and square, and together with Tony Blair, put real teeth into umpteen UN resolutions to use force against Saddam. Despite his shortcomings, Bush is presently our best chance at stopping ruthless enemies that have repeatedly demonstrated their willingness and ability to strike us here at home with tremendous devastation.

Wake up.

During peacetime, whine all you want.

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.

Note to libs: No formal declaration is needed for our nation to be at war.

If we're not at war, then what are all the protests about?!? :-)

It is only treason if it is speech that is directly undermining the US in some way. ie - telling secrets to the enemy (a la Rosenbergs - well supposedly) or something more substantially damaging to the US cause.

The right to free speech and peaceful dissent is most certianly protected under the constitution - even at wartime. No matter how much some would like it to, the constitution does not become null and void just because there is a "war" going on.

The Civil War was FULL of critics - on BOTH sides. Lincoln appointed some to his cabinet! If you think everyone who spoke against it was punished then you're reading some seriously messed up history.

Offering opinions or ideas - even conspiracy theories - during wartime is perfectly legal, protected, and frankly - I think it's healthy for people to think for themselves.

BS. When did we declare war? There is a huge difference between the Civil war and that little thing we got going on in Iraq. There is an enormous difference between the world wars and what is going on in Iraq today. If what you illude is true than anyone who whined about going into Bosnia during the Clinton years would fit the same category. Technically then, this country is never not at war. So you are advocating a dictatorship. Good show, idiot.

I suppose you would have been a 'good German' for Mr. Hitler. The constitution can not be suspended during wartime, even by George Bush. Without dissent there is no democracy, which supposedly you want our boys to kill and die for in that wasteland desert. George Bush is an enemy of the UN, he has tried to weaken the UN at every turn, when they wouldn't give him 'permission' to invade Iraq, he ignored them. Why don't you address the lies the administration told leading up to the war, which Colin Powell has admitted to, to stand up against wrongs committed by your government is true patriotism. We are merely the continuation of the colonial control which the French and British began. The only ones suffering in this 'war' are the soldiers and their families, many of them National Guardsmen, without proper training and equipment. You must have no concept of the devestation we have caused in Iraq, Powell warned them; that they would own this broken country, and we can't even fix our own infrastructure, the Chinese are laughing their heads off at our waste, diverting our resources to a failed policy, while they gather up our debt, I hope you send your children to a good Mandarin class; they're going to need it.

This is not a war. This is just a handful of folks, a few dead enders who are in their last throes who are still putting up a fuss.

The democratically elected government of Iraq will be able to deal with them once the Americans have gone.

All muslims are not terrorists. There will be more Iraqi muslims living in America after 9-11, than there were before.

In 2004 there were people in the administration that knew how to procecute a war. Now it's all Barack Obama, Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod... That reminds me, has anyone seen that three stooges episode called "kooks tour?"

It always cracks me up to hear cons accuse people who don't agree with them of ignorance.

Did you know treason laws apply during wartime? Has the U.S. declared war on anybody?

You may be confused by the hot gas spewing out of the president on this topic. Let me repeat, who did we declare war against?

Hint: Only Congress has the authority to declare war. How come the repubs never got around to that before THE PEOPLE threw them out?

Ever notice, this is America ! They can say what they want.

You guys are overreacting to the whole situation, calling good Americans "Traitors" and "the enemy".

Bush will not talk to any one of a different opinion.

We have got to talk and work out our troubles.

What would you have called those brave enough to criticize hitler during his unjust wars?

You don't seem to understand that our president, who seized power under quite questionable circumstances, lied our country into an elective war that has increased terrorism and decreased our safety, national ethics, treasury, and clout in the world.

In my opinion, anyone who supports george bush is a traitor to america, as george bush is a traitor to america. like bush said, 'america's enemies never stop thinking of ways to hurt america, and neither do we.'

Aren't you embarassed to love big brother?
