I want to check the engine timing. If anyone has a service manual I am sure it would be in there. When we give alot of throttle on our tractor it has trouble buring it all up. Another thing I would like to know is the point gap.

I don't have the book.
is not the timing ,is the air intake,is dirty or clog ( or has a restriction) and the engine is not breathing

the reason I state this is: because You have not mention "hard starting" or "bad idle" and "stall at full throttle"
that is common to timing.
