Does BS = bullsh!t? It's very hard to disagree with the first poster's observation.

Seriously, it is usually necessary to be a US citizen and to have resided in the state for a certain number of years. It may also be necessary to be a certain age. Of course, each state's laws will differ slightly, but I think I have covered the main issues

You need to be a resident. And you can become Governor posthumously, in some states.
