As usual when someone asks a question about a particular date people will try to make it look like it wasn't asked that way.

The question was about (2001). The Oscars were cancelled in 2001, even if they were held in 2002. The answer is still the same. They were cancelled in 2001.

They didn't cancel it. They postponed it. And the 2001 Oscars are held in 2002. It was held Mar 24th at he Kodak Theater.

*edit* Huh? The Oscars are ALWAYS held the year after the year the achievements celebrate -- the 2006 Oscars were held this year.

*edit* The Oscars that occurred in 2001 occurred 6 months before the 9/11 attacks. For Movies that came out in 2000.

Funny how they cancel a highly publicized event like the Oscars will all of those "important" people there. But Bush was expected to be everywhere saving the world.

We, as Americans, have our priorities screwed up.

Freakish...do you really think that the oscars are important to anyone but the actors involved?

They are puffed up little people that think because they have the talent (some of them) to act that they also are IMPORTANT to society?????

And you try to make this some sort of political statement?

That is about the stupidest thing and the most freakish thing I've heard or come across in a long time.

I wish they would cancel all of those awards shows. A bunch of elites sitting around patting each other on the back while using the stage as a platform to spew forth a political message.

Here's the thing 'Son of George Bush' - based on what you contribute to Yahoo Answers your act is a bit tiresome. Instead of trying to bait people by writing arbitrary smut, why don't you actually write your opinions based on some facts? Like how about telling us about some of yoru favorite recipes instead of "GW is God incarnate, I hate the French, blah blah blah....." Why do you waste so much time on this internet site?
