The premise of the show is to figure out who will be his wife. Of course Marshall gets married to Lilly because they are called 'aunt & uncle' in the future. The point of watching the show (other than it's hilarious) is to see who will become the 'mother'. So you're asking the impossible. It's like asking what was in that suitcase in 'Pulp Fiction'. The story is based on it but the story doesn't need to 'show' it in order to achieve its plot. :-)

His real wife is robins sister, a character that hasnt been introduced to the show yet. They told this on the pilot episode.

we don't know who is his real wife, but it's ISN'T one of the characters currently. the kids in the beginning refer to the girl that Ted is dating now as 'Aunt Robin'.
