Honesty is always the best policy. better tell them yourself than for some other kid to tell them out in the street in a perverted way! There is nothing wrong with thongs, just tell him it is a certain kind of underwear.

The truth. It's underwear that has a string that hides so that you can't tell your wearing underwear. No need to be prude. My son is 12. I never hide anything from him. Believe me, he will find out soon enough.
