Unless you want a mosquito breeding ground, either drain it, or keep using the pump to circulate the water.
You should just drain it & take it down, or fill it in if it's inground.
Ever see a pool that has'nt been maintained for years? Not a pretty sight!
No offense, but with an idea like that, I'm glad you're not my neighbor:):)

First, is it an above ground or below ground pool? You still have to maintain it, somewhat, if you are going to keep water in it....Or you are going to end up with a green smelly mess....If it is a below ground pool, and you don't fill it in with something, you need to core the bottom to keep hydrostatic pressure from pushing it up out of the ground.... Best bet...Core the bottom, know in the sides and fill with dirt...seed, and enjoy your lawn

If you don't want to maintain it and don't want to drain it, you're asking for trouble.

You could turn it into a fish pond, perhaps with a fountain or two. Or you could fill it in and use it as gardening space.

if your swimming pool is big enough, you can drain half of it and the other half you can use it in showing up an aquarium or something like that.
and the one you drain it you can make it like a place to seat in.
hope you like it.

tip a load of mud in, claim its a health or cosmetic treatment, and collect pocket money from visitors.

i put a gator in mine......or turtles ......
but you can still half keep your water clear by dumping a couple of shock packs in it and they are only a few dollars.
