when i am playing a video game Civ 4 sometimes the game crashes and tells me that i am out of video memory this always happens when the game is getting long, how to get more memory to the game, my laptop is fairly new only 7 months old. and the game came out a few years ago so it runs fine and plays great with no problems just crashes late in the game is there a way to get more memory without buying a new card, and if i do have to get a new card is there one that can be accessed externally i dont want to have to go into the motherboard to hook it up
I have a GeForce Go 6100 if that matters

just adjust your overall settings for more "virtual" memory right click on "my computer" go to properties, then to the advanced tab, then performance settings....you can make several settings changes that will help with your video settings.....if the game is online then you may need to change the internet cache size to allow for more space and to clear out temp files more often.

you will have to upgrade your graphics card to 512 MB.
keep in mind that some vendors will consider the warranty null and void if any hardware changes are made.

Add another 256Mb (SODIMM) RAM so that your onboard video can access more memory. 2x512Mb would be best.
