well, most of the time, those files are actually quiete important, but if u wanna take out some files, then go to my computer, click on ur home drive, go to ur user, and then depending on waht u wanna remove, go to the file that has it in it. for example, if u wanna take out a certain program, go to uninstall it first, but then say u hav a file that was for it and u dont need it, just delete it.
okok, i know this might not make sense, but the point is that you need those hidden files and the useless ones may be important, so save them on a cd fist (back up) and then delete them, but i recommend that u see its properties of what exactly it is. ok, hope this helps! :P

Why on earth would you want to delete hidden files. Useless I agree, but how do YOU know they aren't used by some program??
It's okay to use DISK CLEANUP or some such, but DON'T start trying to second-guess which files are needed and which aren't. You should have a little something more important to do with your time....

You can set your folder options under MyComputer, View to see hidden files, but that is dangerous to start deleting them. If you want a fresh start, you're better off to back up everything you want to keep onto another hard drive, cd burner, floppy, thumb drive, etc. then fdisk & format the hard drive to wipe it all out and reinstall your operating system and any games/programs, etc. you want on there. You can set your bios to boot from a windows cd or a floppy and it should walk you through the re-formatting of your drive.

Here's my take.
Most, if not all, programs are Installed in windows and therefore should be Uninstalled, Never Deleted.
If files are hidden then they are Not intended for the user to mess with.
The point here is if you don't know what it is or why it's there, Leave it alone until you do.
Your best bet is to format and reinstall from scratch.
Good Luck
