In confidence you do the thing you think right and do it well enough because of inner force.
In overconfidence you don't look at the other side of the coin.
You take a plunge right away and this leads you into trouble, although occasionally it may bring rewards. In the long run overconfidence becomes counter productive and you regret many of the acts done on the spur of the moment.

Confidence means the beleif on yourself that you can successfully atempt something.
But over confidence means the beleif that you can do a thing successfully even without thinking about it andworrying .i.e.it's a work of left hand for you.

The dividing line is very thin.
When one is able to achieve the desired results it is termed as confidence. And when not able to achieve the same may be termed as over-confidence.
