Oh maybe not, many Federal post even the Federal Register has begun to refer to 53 states. I know there are 50 stars on the flag for 50 states. That's old old news. But my question is why 53 now and the territories and districts have remained the same? This 53 number is repetitive. So ????

US has 50. there are 40 8 contained in the major area and then there is Alaska up north on the end of Canada and Hawaii contained in the Pacific which makes up 50 in all you do not count number Canada and Mexico because those are self sustaining international locations. Puerto Rico and those varieties of territories are literally not counted as states, yet they are territories.
