It is the same as chorus and similar to phaser. It is like a spaceship sound.

Makes a cool sound! Seriously - ever heard a jet plane "whoosh" by overhead? Without getting overly technical, that is the effect it makes, based on the Doppler effect. There are a lot of different models on the market, so if you want to get one for yourself be sure to check out a few different ones. The more expensive "boutique" models tend to have better tone, but if you are on a budget you could look for a used pedal in good condition.

Makes a weird noise, a little like a chorus pedal with everything turned all the way up(and a bit further). For example, listen to the start of "Welcome to Planet Motherf*cker", and you'll hear an E5 being pretty heavily flanged.
