No you shouldn't.,but You will have to obey local by laws regarding launching--- very often you have to pay to use jetties and sladesThere are rights of passage and navigation aids to consider in most waters.The resue services will take a dim view of you if you are not sea worthy or endanger others .Be sure you know what you are doing before you endanger yourself and others.Its not as easy or as pleasurable as it looks and very very dangerous..

No permit is required. The craft must be registered with "K" numbers if powered by a 10 HP engine or larger. The length of the inflatable craft is inconsequential.

I am pretty sure you would need a certificate of sea-worthiness, this would involve a safety check and a requirement to have all the proper safety equipment such as radios etc. As far as I know you should be ok for the river.

Any boat that is under motor must be registered in a state and any operator who was born after about1976(it varies by state) must have a safe boaters certificate. If stopped you must also produce the proper safety equipment and life jackets for all aboard, .

Most UK inland waters require a permit and so do some coastal areas, although generally you do not need a permit at sea to go and drown yourself.

You need a licence on the Thames but it is not that expensive and easy to get so try it.
