Okay somethings that can cause a delayed period are stress, increased sexual activity, sudden drop in your body fat (IE: are you on a crash diet), anemia, severe bacterial infection, dehydration (more common than you would think), stress, and very athletic women. These are the most common ones, you are probably not pregnant and some controllable factor has delayed your period. The cramps and sore breasts are also signs of your period (they will be amplified if your period is late.) So to be safe if the symptoms persist, seek medical care.

once my period was 13 days late and boy was i freakin out..i was so worried that after 2 at home negative test i called my dr who told me to come and take a blood test pregnacy test in her office b/c some times the pregancy hormone that the at homes tests looks for is so low at the begining of the preganacy that at home test dont pick it up and the only way to tell would be a blood test b/c the test more throughly..well.. i took the test and waited for the results which came back negative and a few days after getting test result my period came while at the mall..lol..with a group of new MALE friends of all times...oh well....try to relax and dont worry...sometimes ur period just changes the time of the month that it starts...ReLAx even if u wanted an abortion (via the ru-486 pill) u'd have till the 6th week of pregancy (or appox 2 weeks from now) to make up ur mind about that so dont think about it for a week and hopefully the period will come back by then...GooD Luck and i will keep u in my prayers

Wait another 2 weeks. You could be pregnant you just may not have enough of the chemical in your body to give you a positive result. You have some signs but then again your period could be odd too. So wait 2 weeks take another test and go see your obgyn if it comes out negative and you haven't started yet. Good luck!

It is possible you could still be pregnant and you may have just done the test too early. leave it another few days and then take another test. Is your period always regular?because a number of things i.e if you are stressed can make your period a little late.

Doubtful, although possible! I got pregnant one time just a few days before my pd was due! so of course when I took the test, it was too early since the pregnancy hormone hadn't built up enough in my system. Anyway, I ended up with a miscarriage, but that's another story.
my period is 5 days late and I took the test today too...got a negative answer...

You may be pregnant and it could be too soon to detect hormonal changes, try repeating the test in a day or so. If it still says its -ve then trust it. if youre still worried then contact your family gp and then they can run a test for a more accurate result.

Yes. There is always room for error in any lab test. Repeat the test and make sure it's an "early pregnancy test" kit.
Best advice is see a Doctor.

Your period could be up to a week late. If within 2 weeks you still don't get it then make an appointment with your Doctor.

You could be- or you could be stressed. Depending upon your age - your body might be adjusting to the days on the calender and the times. Nobody is one hundred percent on their cycle. (every 28 days) but as a precaution - if you are not trying to get pregnant, don't forget to use safety measures. Good luck.

Chances are, you are pregnant. Before pregnancy tests, for centuries and since the beginning of time, all there was to go by was signs from the body.
