In your defense John...shut up Sue. You didn't even answer his question.
Its a feasible question. With several possible reasons why she shivers.
1. Drop in body temperature - as she returns to resting heart rate.
2. After orgasm. This can cause a shudder like ripple, or muscular twitches that resemble shivering.
3. She may just be cold. Chances are she's naked or near to it. It may be that simple, and have nothing to do with the sex physically.
Have you asked her why she shivers???
If she knows, she'll be able to answer better than me.

Women are amazing! My Lil Sweety sometimes cries after sex, not from guilt, sadness nor pain, or anything of that nature, but from her inner chemistry combined with those fascinating feminine emotions, thus your girlfriend's shivers are a reaction of the same above mentioned, so don't concern yourself too much with this, just realize that you're doing a good job satisfying her:)

Maybe because she enjoyed it but didnt finish (if you know what i mean), and still has a bit of go in her. I knew a girl who had an insatiable appertite and would do the same for that reason.
or maybe she's just cold. try turning the heating up :)

Are you being too tough??? Or has she been having discomfort?? you fairly need to ask her what's happening and how you may make it greater efficient. Does she have a historical past of being sexual abused???

Ask her. That is a personal thing and you should ask her. If you are adult enough to have sex, you should be able to communicate how each other feels and why things happen and things of that sort.
