Both are totally irrelevant to me. I simply want our next President to be the best person for the job, regardless of race, gender or anything else.

I do agree that the media and a handful of skeptics is trying to make this more of an issue than it really is. Obama and Hillary are both strong contenders and have lots of backing. That is a better measuring stick of how the country feels as a whole on the issue.

Sex and Color have no bearing on the issue, the relevant characteristics in a President are his/her ability to identify with the American public balanced with his/her ability to interact with and form policy with leaders worldwide. For too long we are offered up candidates that are too far removed from the American public.
Bush the first was amazed by the scanners in the grocery checkout because he'd never seen one before. How familiar with the wants and needs of the average American can the someone be if they are not the average American.
Vote Ron Paul for President!

I have two prerequisites I would look for in a woman for President.
One. She knows how to handle a household budget, in economically depressed times. And not lost, even the electricity.
Two. She would have had to have changed diapers for at least four years. This would give her experience to handle special interest groups, bureaucrats and Congress.

Who knows she might make us proud of that baby that out grew its diapers, started to learn through its own self confidence that it can reduce the number of spills, falls, bumps and scrapes.

It's never been a big deal who's in charge to me. Anyone is better than Bush. It DOES bother me how Obama seems to be getting a free ride from the media, with almost no mention of other candidates in a lot of news broadcasts, including Hillary.

Personally, I would vote for Colin Powell in a heartbeat if he were running. Unfortunately, he is not. In my opinion, we would not be in Iraq now if Bush had listened to him instead of his other advisors, who have never been to war.

I have not yet seen a woman in politics that I would vote for as President. Not because they are women, but because I don't like what they have to say.

Personally, I feel that although this country is ready for
its first First Lady, Hillary's chances are not as good
as they could be--due to all the current circumstances
involved: meaning that we, the people, are too intent
on coming up with a way to achieve as satisfactory
end to what we started in Iraq to bother with making
history in The Oval Office right now.
As for our first prospective black president: for the
same reasons, I don't think it's the time for that to
happen.

as far as a "person of color".. that wouldn't bother me.. I don't care for Obama but in general I wouldn't care- as far as a woman though.. I wouldn't vote for a woman- even being a woman- and I would be very upset if a woman won... women are generally more emotional and tend to run their lives with their emotions... imagine if they were President..

Relieved in a way. White people are overbearing (its because of a higher average I.Q. and just the way we are). It is time really for this to happen although I prefer the idea of a black person to a white female. I actually like the idea of a black woman in a way too because they will let you know how they really feel (well i like them better as diplomats to countries we hate). All things considered it matters little. The president is merely a figurehead.

I have no problem with a woman being president, but I do have a problem with Hillary Clinton being president.

If Collin Powel ran for president, I'd vote him.
