I give names to just about every thing, now I have a new lap top and I cannot think of an appropriate name...any suggestions?

'Please' is the name that comes to mind when I want to address my laptop.

Since it also connects known knowledge with unknown knowledge you could also call it 'My Missing Link'. ('Link' for short form.)

In that same regard you could call it TF (pronounced TiF) short for "transitional fossil' or Evil, while I mean that to be short for 'evolutionary link' as it does inspire evolution of knowledge; it also has an evil habit of keeping me awake when I should be sleeping. (If this doesn't make sense; that's why!)
