No. Kryptonite affects Superman's cells because they absorb sunlight and the radiation from the Kryptonite creates a reaction this is painful to Superman and drains his cells of the solar energy. If he is under a red sun/red giant, his body will not absorb the right kind of Solar Energy so Kryptonite will not effect him

Look, if Superman is exposed to the light of a red giant, Kryptonite will be no worse for him than coal, or anything else you can think of. When Superman is exposed to the light of a red giant, he loses his powers (which are, naturally, caused by the light of a yellow sun,) and becomes very similar to how he was at birth, not in possession of any extraordinary powers. In this state, Superman will not be affected by green kryptonite. Sorry if I ruined your "Expose-Superman-To-Both-Green-Kryptonite-And-A-Red-Giant" plan, Lex. Looks like you'll have to go back to plain ol' one-or-the-other-ing.

When Superman is under the influence of a red sun instead of a yellow sun, he does not have his super powers. When he does not have his super powers, he is not affected by Kryptonite.

Check out Superman Through the Ages; they have an attached encyclopedia where you can look up Kryptonite (under ‘K’, natch!) and it will tell you all about it. Enjoy!

purple Kryptonite does not counteract green Kryptonite and vice versa, so Superman could be a reckless powerless person. So in this know i could say Batman and green Kryptonite could win by potential of a brilliant margin.

the way I've always understood it is that what ever processes affect him making him Superman also affect the specific elements that we call Kryptonite making them dangerous to him, so if operating on the solar powered theory then when you put K under a red sun it loses its affects on him, thus theoretically if you shined a filtered light over K it would be rendered harmless to him , unless he too reached into thebeam to pick it up.

No/Yes, since he's in the light of the red sun, he's already losing his extraordinary abilities. After he has become completely normal, kryptonite would be like any other radioactive material to him. It would probably cause him to get cancer or some other ailment.

I'd imagine it would, you are talking about when he powerless due to a red sun.

He may not have powers but he is still from Krypton and is sensitive to that radioactive element regardless of strength. If anything he migh scumble quicker.
