its not new.
its actually a pretty old trend..
back to the 80's
check out old run dmc videos.
the wore shelltops (adidas) without the laces at all.
its b.c shelltops arent that comfortable
and if you dont wear the laces they are
alot more comfortable.
now with airforces (nike) she prob. just
does it with these because she does it
with her other sneakers.
check out what her friends are wearing..
if they're wearing them like this then shes
prob. trying to fit in a little more.
if you want her to stop..
try showing her the run dmc video
&& let her know its old school =]
teens HATE something started
way before them =]

Well, if it's a new trend, it's not entirely new, watch the video clip of RUN DMC / AEROSMITH " Walk This Way ". They don't have any laces in their shoes.

new trend a few years back it was wearing them unlaced - best to ignore it. when they lose a shoe, or are embarrassed they will find a new trend

I doubt it means she's in a gang or anything. You shouldn't worry about it.
