Whats with this thing people saying a gay gene exists? There is no such thing fools! People are gay because they are influenced at a young age, and then they want to play the "born that way" card to use that as an excuse for thier sins? Come on people!

To the first responder, who would influence someone to be gay? Look around you, its in schools, the music, the movies that your kids watch and listen to, the kids your kids play with, its in the TV, the magazines. They all make kids feel its "O.K." to be gay, so then people are influenced by that and turn gay. Also, my little cousin turned out gay because his father left him, he lives with his sister and mother his whole life basically, he has had no male role model so he turned out gay. Any more questions? ownedkthxbaaii

@ finding_out, who says everyone is the same? Not everyone will turn out the same, but people who _DO_ turn gay usually don't have any male role models. I never said everyone who didn't have one turns out gay now did I?

@ Waverly_Pascale, sorry but, its a sin. The devil has brainwashed you and made you think that being gay is alright and a "blessing". Don't get me wrong please, I don't judge others, for we have all sinned. Everyone is a sinner, and we all have our problems. I'm am simply shedding some light on this matter.

We should fight that influence and be straight. Why should we be influenced to do bad things. We should learn to differentiate between evil and good as we do for day and night.

Well, if scientists have been trying to learn all about the gay gene, there must be something neither you or me can prove or disprove. How come you know people are gay because they are influenced at a young age? Is that based on a research or what?
I think what you are saying is as doubtful as the gey gene theory and as long as you don't have any proof for that, we might as well stick to the gay gene idea.

On the additional information, you sound really convincing by generalizing your cousin whatsisname to the whole human race. Doing so, you'd be able to turn the whole world against homosexuality. God, you are a threat to us with your utterly enlightening ideas. If only POPE John Paul II had discovered you before he passed away!!!

Not every one named Gene is gay but who knows whether some are predisposed or not . open your mind you don't really know that much to be so narrow minded . People are born with different proclivities by DNA and that much is fact .
How it influences are judgment or sexual predelictions is a matter of conjecture so far . But wont's you be the fool with egg on your face if your unwarranted prejudices that you call common sense turn out to be disproven by future scientific progress .And how do you a person who mind was made through hearsay and ignorance define sin other than what someone told you ;I suggest you learn to apply the courage and determination required to think for yourself for change..
Because eventually parrots will go out of fashion and some will be left out in the cold .Write your own bible if you consider yourself so smart it should be easy for you and then you should have the sufficient understanding not condemn others on such a flimsy basis.thank you for your time hope this helps you .

Sexuality is fluid, and it depends on your genes as well as your environment growing up and the events of your life. Sometimes people, looking for excuses or justifications, take too much stock in either description, this can lead to misunderstanding the nature of sexuality. Also, the idea that there isn't just one factor that determines your sexuality also causes skepticism among people who aren't comfortable with homosexuals.

I disagree with you on the point that homosexuality is a sin. I have been attracted to females all my life, and I wouldn't change who I am for the world. I realize that you have grown up in a different environment than I, my parents are devout Catholics who tend to side with the Vatican over every issue. However, knowing who I am and having found love and support with my partner, I know that this is where I belong. If there is a God, then I know that He wants me where I am or why would my life be so fulfilling for myself and the people I help on a daily basis. Sin is a word that highly religious people tack onto things that they don't understand, however, my life is not a sin, it is a blessing.

I am truly amazed by the stupid things that come out of peoples mouths. My son grew up without a dad with three sisters and a mother who has been in a same sex relationship for the last nine years and suprisingly he shows no sign whatsoever of being gay and nor do his sisters not that this would be a problem if they did. But you know it kind of kills your theory.

Some of you people may not approve of our relationships but trust me I am sure that there are things you may do that we would not approve of but that does not give us or you the right to judge and preach our beliefs on others. Especially when those beliefs are stupid and have nothing to substantiate them apart from your own narrow minded phobias

You know what turns your body on right. Things go on down there, things go on inside. It ain't no choice they just go on. Being Gay means they found out that the same sex makes things go on inside.

I don't know about the gene thing but I met one family with two boys and a girl, they all turned out gay. Explain that.

I didn't want to deal with the fact that things go on inside for men and women for me. but they do, and it would be a lie (a sin) to not acknowledge this and live as I was created.

Who would influence someone to be gay at a young age? Your logic is flawed. Please get a brain and read a current Psychology and Sociology book before rattling off at the mouth.

Yes, I have much more questions. Gay people have been around since the beginning of time. Explain to me how people were "influenced" to be gay when people were killed for being themselves. Plus, this took place way before your media/TV/books/etc. Also, people are coming out more, because there is less ignorant people around such as yourself. Hence, we are in the media, schools...etc for tolerance.

Oh...so you now know more than all of science around you does. Must be nice. How much do you get paid for your consulting fees on homosexual issues? You do realize that you sound like a fool, don't you.

Homophobia Questionnaire?

Below, FRONTLINE has reproduced this "Wright, Adams, and Bernat Homophobia Scale." It is not a perfect measure of anti-gay feelings or ideas, and is not a predictor of potential for anti-gay violence.

If your theory is true, then all people are in fact born "bisexual". Including you.

You made a choice to be straight, correct? When did you do this?

Perhaps in the future some guy will turn you on......we'll all be waiting to see what choice you make.
