UC Berkeley.
I have never heard an alumni NOT say that it was the best experience of his/her life!
I had a great political science professor that I took go there and he said he loved it.
I toured the campus and it's beautiful. I also saw the tree-huggers on top of the trees.

Before 9/11/01 I would have recommended NYU to you for the East Coast experience and exposure to diverse US as well as foreign cultures. I've visited both campuses as I've live in both cities. However because the world is pretty unsafe right now for a single young lady with no relatives or even good reliable friends in the Big Apple, I'll say go for UCB as California is noted for being a major player in the education field and your degree from either of these universities would be respected. Also there is going to be a noticeable benefit to you as a California resident over being an out-of-state applicant where tuition rates are concerned. If you want bustling city atmosphere, San Francisco is just across the Bay Bridge and you can meet just as many interesting people from all over the world in California as you can in New York.

If you're going to be taking out loans to finance your NYU education, and then you're planning on becoming a teacher (not known as a very high paying job), I'd go to Berkeley and save the money.
But, of course, the decision is yours to make.

it's really hard being away from home, especially if you are close to your family. also, in terms of finances (if that would be a problem for you)....well staying in Cali is so much cheaper. I think they charge more for out of state students, right? you should probably visit nyu if you haven't already and ask alot of questions...ask the students who attend questions as well. But, hey! Congratulations! tough schools. good luck with your decision.

berkeley if cost is a factor. Are you a presidents scholar at nyu? Nationally and internationally Berkeley's rep is better too. If you have any more questions feel free to email me.

nicely as time is going by potential of you'l be sooo wrinkled and sooo vainly drained at observing your self interior the reflect, that the adult men would be sooo bored stiff in sorting out somebody who would seem apetizing on the exterior, yet is a hollow, shallow fool on the interior and that's the section that counts.!

The sole criteria for such a weighty decision as this would be whether you prefer surfing or theater.
