It's curly, layered and of medium length. And, it's always in a ponytail with the disobedient short layers clipped behind the ears. I want to look different! I love going through fashion magazines looking at how models have done their hair, and wishing I could do the same. Yet, I don't feel like spending more than a few minutes before the mirror (I don't wear makeup, save lip balm).
I don't want to straighten it even to look different because, my hair is kinda thin and I already lack volume on the crown. With my curly hair and round face, I do look approachable and guys tend to like me, but I want to look more "hot" and "modern".

My dream is to have side-swept bangs, but my forehead isn't broad enough and the curls will make me look like someone in the 80's.

Help!

i really like the idea of pinning back the side or sides with a really pretty barrette.

or with your hair wavy, take two pieces, one from each side, and twist them and secure in back with a clear rubber band.

well 1st of all if you want your hair to look good your gonna hav to spend a reasonable time in the mirror.im like you.i have curly hair and bangs yet i leave my hair down almost all the time.I would buy a pantene spritzer for curly hair and spritz it right after you come out of the shower and if you dont have a straighten then just hairspray your bangs a lot so there really wet and straight and blow dry that part. I no at first it will fill stiff but just brush it out and while your brushing your bangs like move the brush upwards so they'll have a sideswept effect.and you can wear a cute headband too if you want and by the way curly hair is soo not 80's.you just have to learn to love your hair.

Hun, there's a ton of issues which you're able to do on your hair. that's for sure immediately, suitable? - extreme/low/middle ponytails, of direction. - Braid it... French braid, or do a 4-5 strand braid... a 5 strand braid could seem wonderful inclusive of your thick hair. - Get wavy by potential of gelling up your hair and then doing somewhat diverse braids (3, 4, 5 strands) on your moist hair and then wait some hours and take the braids out... it is going to artwork very top - Pigtails, once you're daringly wonderful ;) - French twist and peacock twist are super! - seem up movies on youtube on the thank you to do diverse buns. Buns are super, and there are maximum of diverse ones you're able to do. there is rapid ones, complicated ones, and actually fancy ones. positioned money into some good high quality hairsticks (even ones with danglies, oooh) and do some updos!

I have long straight hair that touches my bootie when I sit..I hear you about the pony tail..I use a messy bun a lot. But maybe try doing what you want with the side swept bangs and straightening them?

Do something pretty like this, in the picture the hair is straight but it would look great curly too, have some of your curls fall freely.

You just have to try lot's of different things, you'll find something that looks great!
