Whe something is half way gone do you say it is half full or half empty?

I look at it differently depending on the situation.Sometimes if the good things are outweighing the bad things,I look at it as half full,like I still have something to keep me looking forward.When alot of bad things are happening to me at once,I look at it as half empty because I see so many obstacles in my way.
