ok we were talking and the situation is, all she does is say something sarcastic to him then he hits her, when I say verbally abusive, I mean she is sarcastic, we never mentioned about her being abusive to the kids, so that doesnt come into it, just he has a temper and he lashes out, we were all on this subject for about 2 hours last night.

You've got to be kidding. How was this even up for debate. The rule of thumb was revoked a long time ago so unless she's about to injure someone or they're both playing around and no one is in danger of getting hurt, it's never ok for a man to hit a woman. It's never ok for a woman to hit a man. He can find other ways to deal with her sarcasm, not that that's a punishable offense in the first place.

Only if she is physically abusive, if she wants to fight like a man or get right in his face screaming & inciting him I say she is asking to be shoved. If she pokes him with her finger he has the right to poke back. He has the right to defend himself. Hitting her in the face is a complete no-no, no matter what. Either way its domestic violence & they both will go to jail if the cops come. I saw a girl pick up a patio chair & literally beat this friend of mine, he just drew up in a ball on the ground & took it , if I had been him I would have at least took the patio chair away from her. After a few minutes, because I was in so shocked, I told her if she didn't stop I would take that chair away from her & show her how it felt, then she stopped. I mean it's one thing to do nothing & get hit its another to start the fight & them fight back.

It doesnt matter how mad a person should get you should never manipulate, verbally abuse, punch, kick, slap, twist, jerk, yank arms, or yell at a person. Its just not polite and it hurts people. Once you start doing any of these things, you are building a very dangerous relationship. Most of the time the other partner lashes back at you and you end up in a sserious incident. Its very unhealthy. Its not ok. Its not okay for anyone to be controlled, manipulated because of gender, sex, whatever you call it. You name it.

It has always been the case that a man should never hit a woman. However, everyone has the right to defend themselves. You say she is verbally abusive? does that warrant any violence against her? If she comes at you with a knife then defend yourself. My Son's gf hit him over the head with a fruit bowl and cut his head open. He slapped her and she called the police and an ambulance. He needed six stitches in his head and then the police charged him with affray. That was months ago and he has to report to the police regularly until the CPS decide if there is enough to charge him with. So even after defending yourself you cant win.

The only time a man should hit a woman is if she hits or asults him physically first. Hitting is the easy thing to do.
He probably doesn't have a problem with being abusive because we've all wanted to hit a smart elect. Its self control hes dealing with. But he does need get away from this woman because he doesn't have the patience to deal with her problem and his and someone may get hurt.
They both need counseling. I hate people that are saracastic and I want to hit them too, but I don't.

It is never OK for any man, woman or child to hit another person. If things get heated, walk away till things cool down..but take it from a female who lived with a bully as a child and then married one, there is never a time when it is ok to hit, poke or push ANYONE

ANSWER NO!!!!!!! it is not okay for a man to hit his wife touch his wife in any way except for loving kindness even if there is an argument. I don't think it's okay for any person to hit another period. There is no need at all and if an argument is starting I walk away and just wait a while, but mostly I remember not to let what's going on bother me

A man should never hit his wife, and vise versa. If a partner is repeatedly beaten, then they should leave them and report the situation to the police. But I think that the only time that it is ever acceptable is in self defence. I think that when one person is attacking another, then using reasonable force e.g pushing can be used to protect yourself.

It is not acceptable under any circumstances whatsoever. A real man would walk away, if necessary, to prevent himself from being physically abusive to a woman.
Having said that if the woman was beating their children then I'd say it was acceptable for him to use physical force to get her away from them, but I would still not condone hitting her. I can't think of any other situation where it could be condoned.

It is NEVER okay for a man or woman to be physically abusive to their spouse. If she's being verbally abusive (which isn't okay either) then maybe he should leave or seek counseling. Because when the police come they don't give a crap about who called who what. The person who became physical is the one who is going to jail.
