what exactly is implantation bleeding????

I just started bleeding light brown blood yesterday around 4 pm, can implantation be kind of heavy where you can notice it on a pad or would you just notice it when you wipe? Any answers would help!

It's possible that implantation bleeding (which that of the zygote attaching itself to the uterine lining) can act like a period but I would recommend getting in touch with your OB/GYN thru the after hours line, or on Mon if they are not on call.
