first you have to plan out your network. what kind of access do you need initially and what kind of services would you like to provide in the future? determine the budget and find a local Wi-Fi certified installer and have them do a site survey. if your shoppe is isolated from others interference from other Wi-Fi networks is most likely a non-issue. if in a strip mall, today it's a major issue.

if you're gonna charge, you'll need software that allows you to issue passwords and track time on connection.

if you're doing it free, call up cable/phone/isp company to install a broadband line. buy a wireless router. setup router to accept X number of users. The hard part will be figuring out how much bandwidth you'll need for your customers.

Most companies offer various rates for bandwidth and will be able to give you estimate on what you need.

Another good idea is to ask another coffee shop with Wi-Fi how they setup their shop, how much it cost, what problems did they encounter.
