You might not need to go back to high school. Have you thought about studying offcampus? And, no it's never too late. Age is not a limitation....ever.

The answer to your question can only come from the high school. If all you need is a credit in P.E. to get your high school diploma you should make an appointment or go by the guidance office at the school and see if you will be able to attend.

I am a high school band teacher. You should definitely finish your high school education. Wheather you plan to go to college or find a job after high school, it definitely looks better to graduate from a state accredited high school rather than just get your G.E.D. I don't know where you are going to school, but here in Georgia, you can attend high school as long as you are less than 21 years of age. This means that you can fail a grade twice before you're done wasting taxpayer money on your education. Although each state has its own laws governing certain aspects of education in each area, for most schools the age 21 rule applies.

Hope this helps - good luck!

if all you need is pe then do it now. I went to school with kids who were 19-21, who came back because they dropped out. Having your diploma will look much better then a GED and if all you need is PE then it will be pretty easy to just get it over with,
