Oil Change?

Question

Where is a good place to get an oil change? Do I necessarily have to go to pep boys, or would the local car wash or gas staion be reliable enough? Also, should I watch them do it, just because I've heard bad experiences of the job not actually being done

Try changing it yourself first. It's easy and cheap. If those oil shops can have no problem hiring 14, 15 year-olds and they can still do a good job(hopefully), then why not give it a shot.

Do it yourself or have someone you know do it for you. Chains and shops do "quick jobs" where they drain the oil really fast and fill it right back up. To do a proper oil change, you wanna let the oil drip out for AT LEAST an hour to make sure that MOST of the old stuff has drained, after all, most of the debris is going to be stuck around the bottom/sides of the pan.

I always go to one of the 30min oil change places where you get out of your car and stand right there and watch them. You know its done and its quick too.

I'm not one to know much about cars but i have a damn nice foreign car and i get mine changed at walmart...regular ol walmart....i take it to the dealer for other routine maintenance but find that walmart or jiffy lube does the job just fine!

any local gas station or mechanic will do it but chain stores are more reliable since they have a "name" to protect, unlike small mom and pop spots that are out for profit

do it yourself or brimg a oil filter from autozone or advance auto ect. because to save money the smaller chains buy recycled/ cheap oil filters

jiffy lube work but watch them for your fuild and fiter checks, always check oil before pulling off the rack

wherever you go..........don't let them coax you into getting synthetic oil..........they say its better for your car.........but it cost 75 bucks.........when the regular stuff has the same effect.
