The next solar eclipse will be this September 11, 2007.

It's a partial eclipse of the sun that Tuesday morning, visible across the southern cone of South America, from central Brazil and Peru southward. It cannot be seen in the Northern Hemisphere.

It is impossible to have fewer than two solar eclipses a year. (There could be as many as five, as will happen in 2206.) There MUST be one at least every six months. Since the next is September 11, there will be another, also visible only in the Southern Hemisphere, on the afternoon of Thursday, February 7, 2008, as a partial eclipse in Australia and New Zealand. If you happen to be in Antarctica the late afternoon of Wednesday, February 6th (across the International Date Line), such as at Russkaya Station, you'd see an annular eclipse out over the Southern Ocean.

The next solar eclipse visible anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere is the one August 1, 2008.

Note that there will also be two lunar eclipses, one this August 28th and another the night of February 20-21, 2008, both widely visible across the world.

Tell me under "additional information" where you're calling from, and I'll tell you the date of the next solar eclipse you can see!

It will last about 2 minutes. The next total eclipse visible from the United States won’t happen until August 21, 2017.*-- from NASA website
