An MP3 is a file that any MP3 Player will recognize and play.

An iPod is simply an overpriced MP3 player. Yes, it has lots of bells and whistles, but it also has a battery that cannot be replaced.

some of you might be lucky enough to have a new IPOD but the fact still reamains that there are several models still around that DO play mp3 and thats what the question was about .....technically speaking

if you mean mp3 players, the differences vary between what mp3 players you compare. Otherwise, they are the same, for they both play mp3 files and is capable of listening to music with.

iPod is just Apple's version of an MP3 player. Other Mp3 players do the same thing just have a different set up. The iPod is just very popular, sleek, and easy to use.

There really is no difference. iPods technically are mp3 players, but they are just more popular than others. They are no better than any other mp3 player, vice versa.

the "i" in ipod is from the apple company, that has things like ibook, ipod, and stuff like that. ipods ARE mp3 players for they play music while an mp3 player could be of any company and is used in general for a music player.
